DMCA & Content Takedown Policy

1. The append-only principle

The NextXus public ledger is intentionally append-only. Removing an entry would defeat the purpose of an immutable public record. As such, this system will not delete a ledger entry except where required by valid legal process or in the narrow cases described below. We will redact or amend where appropriate; we will not erase the audit trail.

2. DMCA copyright complaints

If you believe content on the public ledger infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice that includes:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or agent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • The specific ledger entry ID (visible in every entry permalink).
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone).
  • A statement made under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized and that the information in your notice is accurate.

Send to the GitHub repository linked in the footer (open an issue tagged [dmca]) or via the email address published on the Operator's GitHub profile.

3. Defamation, privacy, and personal data

If you believe a ledger entry contains material that is defamatory, that exposes private personal data without consent, or that violates a law in your jurisdiction, file the same request channel above with a clear description of the alleged violation. The Operator will review and may:

  • Append a public correction or annotation to the entry.
  • Redact specific personally-identifying tokens while preserving the audit hash.
  • In rare cases where law requires removal, void the entry while keeping its hash chain placeholder so the chain remains verifiable.

4. Counter-notice

The submitter of a contested entry may file a counter-notice under the same standards. The Operator will weigh both sides on the public record.

5. False claims

Knowingly false takedown requests are a misuse of legal process. Repeat abusers will be denied future channels and their requests will themselves be entered into the public ledger for transparency.

6. Contact

All takedown and amendment requests should be addressed to the Operator, Roger Keyserling, via the GitHub repository linked in the footer.
